IMMERSIVE  INSTALLATION  ART

SENSORY ARCHITECTURE · GLOBAL STUDIO

Some rooms are entered once and never forgotten.

Not because of what happened to them, but because of what they held. A study in immersive installation art: a quality of atmosphere assembled from material, light, seasonal form, and the precise weight of things chosen for that moment alone.

Veceto is Kerstin Pricken's studio for site-specific commissions, working at the convergence of gastronomy, contemporary art, and spatial composition. Installations that take the form of edible sculptures, choreographed table settings, and architectural objects. Each developed entirely around a specific client, space, or moment.

The studio's work is guided by Radical Elegance. Rooted in immersive installation art, and spanning from edible scenography and ephemeral art to constructions conceived from concept to fabrication, the outcomes take many forms. Edible installation as spatial act. Food artistry where eating, design and sculpture share the same logic. Traces of the earth held inside objects made to disappear

An arrangement of concrete vessels cast in the form of stone, centred at the table and lit from within. Broccolini rises from illuminated glass tubes, every stem there to be taken. The tactile landscape at the table mirrors a volcanic terrain. Beetroot and orange move slowly across the surface of what turns out to be cake, a lid lifted to release pine needle smoke from the punch that sits beneath it. A dessert concealed entirely in cotton candy until a sauce falls through and the composition reveals itself.

Sourdough loaves and baguettes are placed vertically across the table, a ciabatta holding three candles within it as a sculptural, immersive installation art tableau. Ceramic vases cast in the form of hands, each holding a sceptre of bread. At the centre, a watering can sculpted entirely from butter, surrounded by three blue trays of icy blue sea salt, almond cream and navy olive oil.

This is how the work is built: from cast, grown, and composed materials that carry their own architectural logic. Objects are made for the work. Spaces are read before anything enters them. What is placed on a table is considered with the same attention as what is placed on a wall. Each commission is an immersive installation art practice developed once, for one context, belonging entirely to where and when it was made. What remains is not recorded. It is held. The work can be seen in Selected Works.

SENSORY  EXPERIENCE

Everything felt, before anything was said.

Snow-covered ground underfoot before anyone has arrived. Deep blue oil in a tray that shifts to yellow-green as a spoon moves through it, the surface holding every mark made within it. Something so fine it appears translucent, its fracture under touch the first sound of the evening. Each sensory experience at Veceto opens long before anything is tasted. In the cold that a particular setting holds.

Before the first guest arrives, the cold has already entered the room. Something delicate fractures at first touch. In a clearing, stillness holds before the first movement breaks it. In a Veceto commission, the body moves through what the palate never reaches.

The brief is never logistical. It is always conceptual.

Those present are drawn into the composition itself. Every element chosen in response to the territory it inhabits, each gesture is part of a sensory experience that includes the occasion, the quality of that evening's silence.

Things that look like objects are edible. Things that look like food are architecture.

Context shifts with every commission. The method holds.

Presence, in its fullest sense, has become the rarest form of luxury. Sensory experience is one dimension of what Veceto creates. A commission may arrive as spatial performance, as objects, as architecture that disappears, or as something that has no name yet. Form is found in the brief, not before it.

The occasion demands a form. Commissions

"The table is not a surface. It is a stage.

Every element: texture, light, form - is a line in a larger composition."

THE PRACTICE

Built for one evening. Belonging to no other.

Opening a new season. Marking an acquisition. Gathering a circle who have never been in the same room before. Occasions like these find their way to Veceto not because they need a dinner, but because they need something closer to immersive installation art, a composition conceived as a work in its own right, one that holds the significance of what it surrounds.

Those who commission the studio understand that the most significant moments deserve a form that has not existed before. Every material and element chosen with the rigour of a singular creative vision, choreographed within a performance that exists for one purpose alone. What lingers is not the object but the quality of having been present for something created precisely for that moment.

Veceto works with those who arrive with a brief open enough to allow the work to find its own form. Spatial design, choreography, material composition: the vocabulary shifts with the context. What emerges is a sensory experience at the level of artistic commission, developed in close dialogue with the client, the site, and the particular weight of what the occasion asks for.

Answerable only to the moment that called for it.

CONTINUUM

The publication that makes the familiar suddenly strange. Continuum moves through gastronomy, art, fashion, and spatial culture from an angle that has not been taken before.

COMMISSION

Something felt before it is articulated. The desire to mark a moment in a way that has no existing template, to create something that will live in those who were present long after the last element has gone.

Bespoke commissions built from tactile materiality and structural exploration, where every composition becomes an offering, and every element carries traces of the earth it came from. Developed in close dialogue between the studio and those who reach out. Each work is distinct in its making, unrepeatable in its form. An invitation to those who seek the unspoken.

Something that cannot yet be described. Enquire
